Hi all! So, lucius started having a lot of skin allergies back in October last year, he is currently on apoquel for his itchiness which seems to have alleviated it somewhat but he is still itching. We have noticed that down the sides of his shoulders and round his neck his fur seems to be thinning quite a bit. its mainly in his areas where his coat goes from gold/red to cream but on his back legs seems to be thinning out too. Its not something ive noticed before and its only been happening recently. Was just wondering if anyones dogs with skin issues have the same thin coat? his skin underneath the thinning hair seems to be a slightly different colour, more of a red/tan colour . Our vet did warn us that with the excessive itching could come some thickening of the skin, so maybe it is the start of this. I'm just worried he may end up going bald in those areas and becoming even more itchy! Going to get him sorted to see a specialist if no joy at our vets.
