I would say that my almost 10 week old Labradoodle is a pretty typical puppy during the day. But come early evening and he turns into a wild puppy that you really don't want to be around. The biting is way more aggressive. He seems out of control. I will put him in his area and he will take a nap. But he wakes up and is still pretty aggressive on the biting. Why is my dog turning into a different dog at night and can I do anything about it? Thank you

Hi 9greatkids, welcome to the forum!

I would say your Labradoodle is a pretty typical puppy in the evening as well :D

Try searching the boards for "evening zoomies" - you'll find you're far from alone!

Puppies often get wild in the evening because they're just a bit rubbish at regulating their energy levels. Much like human kids, they often react to feeling tired by ramping their energy up a notch (or ten) instead.

The good news is, he will outgrow it (actually some dogs always enjoy a mad five minutes in the evening, but the biting stops at least!)

In the meantime, as well as getting him to take a nap, you can also redirect his energy to activities like chewing on a Kong toy or bully stick, which usually has quite a calming effect.

    Good luck, hang in there!

    Hi @9greatkids
This will improve!! Our pup also used to turn into a demon dog in the evening, usually 6.30/7 until 9 some nights. We dreaded it! it was normally because she was over tired and ratty. We now do 45-60 mins of training before her evening meal at 7.30/8 and then she settles well. She is 20 weeks and I would say the last 2/3 weeks have been much better!
