My husband and I are the owners of three dogs. One of those dogs is an almost three year old female silver lab named Bailey. She is a great dog and is trained in nose work and barn hunt and is super at both sports. Bailey and I compete in two venues in nose work. Recently, she has begun a head tremor. She will bob her head up and down quickly until you call her or get her to move or turn her head and go onto something else. She had a vet appointment this morning just to check on it. I am documenting when I see her doing this and how long it lasts. Never lasts very long. The papers I have read call it idiopathic head tremors. She is totally normal acting in every other lab way. Anyone else ever notice this in your lab?

    Hi,

Just wondering if there has been any updates or improvements with your dog’s sudden head tremors. My three year old lab just started them over the weekend. Happened out of the blue while he was laying down. No other symptoms just head bobbing. I can distract him out of it with calling his name and giving a treat. I have googled and it sounds like Idiopathic head tremor syndrome. Very different from a seizure as I unfortunately know about them first had with my oldest lab with epilepsy. Still the head bobbing is scary to see. Will be calling the vet first thing tomorrow morning, but was hoping for some others experience. Thanks for any insight.
