I was playing tug of war with my pup today and she somehow managed to break the tip of one of her teeth, I noticed only after playing with her she continued to play fetch after tug of war and she seemed fine I only noticed about ten minutes after getting back inside. I took her for a walk and she's been running around and ate dinner like normal she doesn't seem to be experiencing any discomfort. I can't help but feel horrible though and even though I know their puppy teeth will fall out should I be taking her to the vet?

Hi Marc, if it's just the tip of the tooth, and she's eating, playing, and chewing normally she should be fine. If she's not happy, or goes off her food then a trip to the vet will be in order.

My pup chipped her baby incisor when she was around 14 weeks and it never bothered her, it was the very last tooth to fall out much later than the others though but no problems otherwise. Just keep checking it to make sure it doesn't look infected, an overzealous vet who might want to take it out could cause emotional problems later in life associated with vet visits. I'd check it daily and turn it into a mouth handling exercise, double bonus that you can keep a close watch on it and get her used to having her mouth handled. Brushing her teeth would be good to do both as well

Mine did this around 12 weeks-playing tug of war, I felt awful, he was having his check up at the vet a few days after and called to see if they would check it out as been ok with it, walking eating etc, all ok- his face looked a bit swollen the other day where the tooth was so asked get to check it as monthly check. It's died, gone Gray ish and will just fall out.. he's 19 weeks now so I think his adult one is growing through so hopefully sorted soon..

Luna done this about the same age. Unfortunately though it broke down to the nerve and she had to have it surgically removed.
She was still eating etc but as soon as we were to go near her she would run and try to hide her face, this wasn't normal for her so we knew something was wrong.

As yours is only a chip and not causing any pain the vet's wont take it out as it will fall out on its own soon.

You will know if anything changes and if your pup is in any pain.
