    Hi,
I recently got a dog named Duke, I don't know his age since I got him from an animal shelter. But I do know that he isn't a puppy but he is older then two. He was abused and gets easily scared and he isn't really food motivated.

So, the problem with training is how do I train him to play? He has some toys, but he doesn't know how to play or what his toys are for. Any information I find is on how to train puppies to play with treats but nothing on older dogs and treats won't motivate Duke so I can't use them. Any help on this I would appreciate.

    Hey,
I no longer need information on how to teach him to play! I have a cousin who is helping with this, she trains dogs and has been working with them for over ten years. Her dogs are teaching my dog to play, while my cousin is helping with getting his confidence up and helping him with a few other problems.
