I have a six month old Fox Red Labrador named Finn. From a young age I have been taking him out walking, we are lucky enough to live in an area where he can be off lead for most of the time. As he grew, he is a big dog, we have increased the walks and also been throwing balls for him to retrieve. A couple of weeks ago after a trip to the beach where he had been running and ball catching we noticed a limp. that seemed to disappear after a while however happened again the next couple of times we went out. I had read the kennel club advice on excercise , 5 minutes for each month, but because it didn't explain why I didnt take an awful lot of notice. Now after reading Pippa's book I realise that was bad as the puppy needs time for his bones to develop.I thought I was doing the best I could to keep him fit! I have now reduced the walking and ball throwing but am worried I might have caused some damage although the limp has disappeared.
