Hello...We recently brought home a "champagne" lab and are giving our first thought to breeding. We have debated it because we know that it is not as easy as it seems but we really like this dog and it would be a good candidate. We are wondering about the whole genetics thing and what color of puppies we would get if we breed with a chocolate female. I have researched many sites but not found a solid answer. I know that he is considered a diluted yellow lab but I am just curious what puppies could be expected if we got a chocolate female. What about a black? Any help would be appreciated.

I try not to give negative answers but breeding just for colour is a recipe for problems.
Breed because he wins at shows, or he's great in the field. Because he will better the breed. Make sure his health tests; eyes tests, hip and elbow scores and DNA tests are all the best. Then see if there is a bitch with all of the above which would compliment his bloodline and traits.
From a (infrequent!) breeders prospective, you would be very lucky indeed to find that your only dog is good enough to breed.
Unfortunately dilute genes can sometimes come with health issues.
