Wish there was something I could do to rid him from the terrible ordeal he is going through It is just a question of being patient, following your vet's advice, and making sure your dog is properly fed as recommended by others on this thread. Dogs are very resilient and soon bounce back. It is probably upsetting you far more than it is upsetting him. Puncture wounds do have to heal from the bottom up, keep him as clean as you can, and try not to worry.
