i am now out the house from 11.30am to 3pm and wondering what to give willow to do / play with.

dont trust her with toys incase chews and swallows.

nothing really food wise as othewise needs a poo :)

    what toys would be safe?

    Kongs !!!!! ;D

There are some Kong stuffing experts on here (I'm not one of them ;) ) or you could do a search to find the myriad of things people put in their Kongs to keep their dogs amused.

I stick to the "if you can't dent it with your thumb nail, it's too hard for teeth" rule. If you don't, you could try a puppy antler.

Charlie gets edible chews. The only edible chews I leave him with are kongs and rice chews and venison ears (less fatty than other types). I don't use antlers because they are too hard, and judge everything else a choke risk. Rice chews don't last long.

If you don't want to use food, you can freeze liquid in puppy kongs (watch the salt content in ready made stuff) - water from salt free cans of sardines is good. If that's a faff, Kong goodie bones, rather than original kongs, use a lot less food. These are rubber bones with hollow ends. I stuff them with hard biscuits or stick of sweet potato wrapped in dried fish skin (I buy these). You can get puppy versions.

I leave Charlie with a pile of kongs - not just one or two, but six or seven or more. More often than not, kong goodie bones these days because they are more economical on food. I reckon 2 frozen kongs, 3 goody bones and a rice chew last him less than an hour. My objective is to leave him enough so he chews himself to sleep.

    Hope helpful.
