    Hello,

Have a Black Lab/Pit Bull Mix. Female
    Live in New England.

    She's 7 months old.

Always had a beautiful, luxurious, pure black coat.

Last few weeks has turned a "motley" brown.

I read, somewhere, that this is normal "molting" or "shedding", yearly, and in
the Spring will again urn black.

    True ?

If so, what also surprises me is that there was no hair residue to be noticed anywhere
in the house. So, how could she be molting or shedding ?

New at this Puppy ownership, so would be most appreciative if someone
could explain for me, hopefully in detail, what is happening and going on ?

    Much thanks, appreciate the help,
    Stay well,
    Bob

It could be that she is going to moult. It could be hormonal, or it could be an indicator of poor health. It could be something as simple as a deficiency in her diet.
What do you feed her and how long has she been on the same food for?
