Hi, I’ve given Chester (11 weeks) a beef tendon (which he LOVES) but i have a few questions

    1. Is he old enough to have these?

He’s eating them nicely and not breaking off big bits, plus I’m watching him all the time. But read online they shouldn’t have them until 16 weeks!

    2. How long should I let him have it for at a time and how often?

If it was up to him he’d sit there all day with it, but I’m trying to limit it. Is it ok to give him it a few times a day? It’s a great alternative to a kong when I’m trying to get work/housework done!

    thanks :)

I'd wait a while as they are quite hard and he's right in the middle of losing his baby teeth, chewing on the beef tendon might make them come out before they are ready. I always add 2 months to the recommended age so would wait until 6 months but that's not really based on anything just my personal feeling. Look for softer chews like ostrich straws or beef lungs maybe?
