    Hello,

Our black lab puppy Maya began limping on her front left leg when she was around 5 months old. We assumed it was from her jumping off the couch or running around at the park. We spoke to our vet and they told us to wait a couple weeks to see if it goes away on its own. After a few weeks, it did not go away and we got x-rays done. The vet initially said there is a dark gray area around our puppies elbow and that it looks like the bone is thickening. They sent the x-rays to a specialist who told us they are 99% sure that it is just a tissue injury. We were relieved that it probably not elbow dysplasia but our puppy is now 6.5 months old and she still limps sometimes (mostly in the mornings and after running). What other possibilities could it be?! We just want to know if it will end. Her parents did not have ED if that helps.

Hi @KKrisan welcome to the forum :)

I'm afraid I'm no expert in this area, but my personal experience of tissue injuries (sprained ankles and whatnot) is that they can remain stiff and sore for a surprisingly long time. If you're worried, I'm sure your vet would be happy to examine Maya again.

Good luck, I hope she makes a full recovery - let us know!
