    Hello guys!!

Have you tried sprinkling baking soda to your dog's fur to remove the "dog smell"?

    Thank you!

Nope, my dog does not smell really. Only occasionally if really wet. It is part of having a dog. I don't wash her either and her coat is awesome. I would not want to add anythimg to her lovely coat.

I've never heard of this one! If you think she has rolled in something unpleasant i'd get a dog shampoo (or at a push Johnson's baby shampoo!) and rinse her down with that instead, as i'm not sure what effect it would have on her skin, or on her if she licked it off! :)

None of our Labs had any real "doggy" odor. They got very occasional baths, like one or two a year at most, usually if they had gotten into something. A salt water swim, with a fresh water rinse was very effective without stripping the oil from their coat.

Oh! Thanks! I've read about baby shampoo being unharmful to dogs. I'm using an organic one once in a while. :D

I never bathed my previous lab or this one. Just make sure bedding is washed regularly and collar(if worn in the house) Toby swims in rivers and the sea occasionally and gets a good rub down after. I would certainly be very wary about putting anything else on the skin.

Our Lab seemed to be smellier as a young puppy, and I concluded that it was from rolling in the grass during walks. She loves to roll in the grass and drag on her belly. However, other dogs tend to pee in the grass along sidewalks, so I started thinking that was causing her odor. So I try to keep her from rolling in the grass near sidewalks. Also, she absolutely loves the water and has become a very good swimmer. So I take her swimming almost every day and that keeps her clean.
