    Hi
My 3 year old black lab boy has started - over the last week or so - to pace at night. He can’t settle and when he tries he immediately jumps up as if he’s had an electric shock. He is eating and drinking normally and going on regular walks. He used to always sleep through the night - often on our bed but mainly in his own bed - in our room. He is exhausted with pacing

Take him to the vet and have him checked out. If clear, consult a dog behaviourist.

Thank you for the advice. He is going to the vet tomorrow but, even more worryingly, I have just noticed that he seems to be displaying evidence of propriocetion deficit :(
He is also carrying his tail lower than normal. So so worried

It’s so hard when our dogs are sick but can’t tell us the problem.
Hopefully the vet can give you some insight today.
Keep us posted and fingers crossed it’s easily fixed.
