Hi everyone, new to the forum

We have a male and female from the same litter, will be 2 years old in 2 weeks.

The male is neutered, the female is not spayed.

In the past year or so, we have seen the female seldom attempt to hump our male. But recently, within the past month or two, she has become much more aggressive and persistent with the humping. At times, we have to separate her from him several times in short time intervals. She tries to hump his backside, as if it was a male trying to mate. She also tries humping his head/face.

Our male for the most part is passive to this behavior and typically doesn't have a reaction.

We play on getting her spayed soon, but is that going to have any effect with this behavior? Any other suggestions or comments?

    Thank you!

No, spaying your dog is unlikely to have ny impact on humping. I suggest you seek a dog behaviourist who can show you how to train some alternative behaviours. The behaviourist can also determine why your dog may be humping. There are many asexual reasons why you dog may be humping.
