Our new pup is only 9 weeks old but since he came home he seems to drink and pee a lot more than I think he should . He seems fine in himself but not sure if it is an issue or he is just drinking a lot because it is there/is fun to do so. We are planning on doing an online vet chat later but just wondered if anyone else has a very thirsty lab ?
I was amazed at how much water our Lab puppy drank when young but she doesn’t seem to drink as much now at 1-year old. I assume this is natural for puppies.
Ours was the same, he’s now 7 months old and still drinks a lot. He seems to drink more whenever he’s excited as well and if we go somewhere new if there’s a water bowl it’s the first thing he heads for. I think they use so much energy when they’re young, as long as it’s peeing ok I wouldn’t worry too much
Be patient about your puppy peeing a lot. They have to reach a certain age before they can hold their bladders longer. Fortunately, ours was sleeping through the night (in a crate) with no issues at about 4 months, but she still wanted to go out a lot during waking hours.
