New to the group,we have a 3 mth old lab that just won’t stop bitting hard,as we have tried everything and anything but it’s giving mom a run for her money as I feel bad while she works from home as I’m at work,so looking for some answers before we take um to training and he is very smart and we have some training down as to sit, come, paw and pretty much potty trained, just the bitting is out of control!!!

When you say you’ve tried everything, what does that include? How consistent have you been for how long? How is the puppy played with? Does the puppy get play time with other dogs?

Hey! My lab (he is 13 weeks) kept biting me so much that he drew blood once and I still have bite marks all over my arm healing. What I did to stop this was to teach him the command 'leave it.' You can find some good tutorials on how to do it but when you're playing with him always have a bag of treats ready so when he listens to your command after you've taught it you immediately give him that so he learns that not biting is good. Also, sometimes they tend to go on a biting frenzy when they're overstimulated so identify signs of him/her getting overexcited such as jumping a lot, panting a lot, and very fast tail swishing so you can just take a 5 minute break so he can calm down. Both of these has really helped and I haven't gotten bitten in 2 weeks! Hope this helps!
