David took Charlie for a long walk this morning at sunrise - very beautiful, they came across a pen of small ish brown hairy pigs, quite different to a normal pig. Charlie was on his 50 meter line whilst David went to look, in comes Charlie to see whats going on, the pigs came up to the fence to say hello, all lovely and calm.

    Proofed with Pigs - tick ;D ;D

If anyone knows what breed these pigs were we would be interested.

    Thanks xx

Oh bless him , bet that was a shock for Charlie :) :)
Could they maybe have been Kunekune ( sp ?) pigs ? They are smaller than the average porky pig , some are brown and hairy ? xx

Murffi and I once came across a herd of Mangalitsa pigs on shoot day. We both decided that the pigs were not on a friendly mission and we scarpered. :p They are very cute though as piglets. Here they are. :D

Aw cute Heidrun, the ones David saw were more Vietnamese squashed faced kind, thankfully they were penned at the back of a very large estate. Never the less it was quite a shock for David and Charlie to find them  We have a field with Lamas' on one of our walk too. So interesting to find all these surprises :)

These pigs were penned quite away from the land owners mansion, I hope they don't forget them and I hope they are not vicious as I think pigs can be :(

Did they have tusks? We have a walk where last year there were three allowed to roam in a very large field and eat all the acorns, they were so friendly (looked scary) and you could stroke them and they totally ignored dogs.

Not like Wild Boar who can be vicious to dogs!

We have wild boar here, in the woods just over the road. While they can be dangerous if cornered, they are usually very keen to get away from humans, fast. Boars have tusks - but humans have guns, and the boar are very intelligent! They really don't like dogs though.

Really wouldn't want to meet a Boar Karen, these little darlings are safely inside an enclosure and we were just happy that Charlie didn't mind them at all :)
