My 8 almost 9 month old silver lab weighs 79 pounds. I am a little concerned about his weight based on what the internet says he should weigh at this age which is about 60-70 pounds. His Vet hasn’t mentioned anything to me about being overweight and just a few days ago when he went to the vet they said his legs are very lengthy. Is his weight normal for his age? Pls help I don’t want my pup to be obese!!!

He may or may not be fat. His long legs and color are from the Weimaraner blood in him.

Check that you can feel his ribs but can’t see them, check that you can see a clearly defined waist if looking at him from above and check that there is a visible “tuck” where the stomach meets the back legs. If the answer is no to any of these he could afford to lose a bit of weight.
