    Hi All,
I am picking up our first ever family puppy a yellow male lab in 3 weeks. After reading pippas books I had lots of ideas about how I was going to socialise him, bring him to the school gates when picking up my niece, bring him into shops. Taking him round friends and family’s house who have dogs who are vaccinated. Obviously I am aware I have to carry him around until he is vaccinated. Though how am I going to socialise him being middle of winter and right in the middle of a lockdown? At home is just myself, husband and 2 1/2 year old. Anyone have any ideas and suggestions on this? Thanks in advance :)

I have found lock-down perfect for socialising my puppy. The biggest bonus is that no-one is allowed to touch her so I haven't had to worry about her jumping up at people and getting petted for it (not cute when they bigger!). I have been taking her to the local small town market square and just letting her watch the world go by. She sees all sorts of shapes and sizes of dogs pottering about and she doesn't feel the need to hurtle up to them to play. She also gets to see moving cars, buses, pushchairs umbrellas etc etc. Socialising a puppy is not about it feeling confident to jump on every person and dog it sees.
