Hello and Happy New Year to everyone. An absolute first timer here, we are looking to buy a Labrador and was checking champdogs website. We came across a boy we like and their parents have the following scores, apart from Hip other tests seems to be fine to my newbie's eyes, and not sure if that the Hip score is a good one or should we need to reconsider. I also read that the hip mean score is 9 and not sure whether it is applied as a combination of both parent's numbers and it for each one separately. Apologies if it sounds too basic and your thoughts are much appreciated. All looks good to me. Both of the parents (individually) should ideally have hip scores at or below the breed average (9) as every breeder should be breeding to better the breed. The only alarm bells that would ring for me would be that both parents have out of date eye tests. It's likely that this is due to lockdown restrictions though so may not have been possible.
Hi 5Labs, Thank you for your kind response, I will certainly check with them on the eye tests. Regards!
