    Hello :)

As a first time lab mum, I've often come across your site, through searching for answers to various questions about our now 6 month old fox red boy! (b.July 2020)
We have had dogs before, but always German Shepherds.
Sadly we lost our last 10 year old GS girl in April last year. At first I didn't want another dog at all, but 'somehow' we ended up with this little guy in September last year! It was a case of 'love at first sight' ♥
He has been a handful from the start tbh! - but he was house trained in no time at all and has learned very good recall (I use a whistle) - we did have some issues with the biting and nipping which was was constant until he lost his baby teeth (yay!) and he is a terrible chewer, something which was never a problem with our shepherds, so that has been a learning curve. I can't believe the things he tries to eat or just swallow. I've spent a fortune on toys, and also chews of all varieties, to try and keep him occupied and from chewing the furniture (or us). If that doesn't work and he isn't too tired, he likes playing games, such as finding some kibbles I've hidden, or just little training games. He has 2 large crates in the house, one where he sleeps all night, and his 'den' where he goes during the day after a walk or just for some time out. He doesn't mind the crates at all as we have always made it a positive thing to go in there (along with a little treat of course!). He loves being outdoors, but he is a bit of a free spirit and isn't keen on being on a lead or getting a harness on, so that is something we are working on! He loves going in the car! At first he sat on the back seat with a harness on, like a little angel, but that soon became an issue! So he now has a crate in the back, and he is perfectly happy there!
Well that's all for now. Sorry for going on a bit :)

Hi there, welcome to the forum! Your boy sounds like a typical Lab puppy - lots of fun! :)
