Re: shedding coat I would go for the shoes too Lynne ;D I was told by my swimming lady that too much brushing actually increases shedding. Not quite sure why that would be. I only use one of the cheap rubber mitts which looks a bit like the Zoom Groom and use it every couple of weeks or so (outside ;D ) otherwise known as when I remember. Find it quite useful for shifting the little blobs of dried mud they get on their bellies at this time of year too.

Re: shedding coat I got a fermi actor for Simba in the summer, his shedding was just awful! It worked really well for us. Haven't used it in a couple months though, he must have had a high shedding time then.
Re: shedding coat I have vet uk version of a ferminator. It works just aswell and was cheaper. About £9 I think. Not sure why yours cost so much Lynne. I'd definitely take it back. They were recommended to me by the vet and they do make grooming quicker and easier. I mainly have to brush them in spring when they have a big shed autumn I've only brushed once. They get a thick winter coat because of sleeping outside so they shed a lot in spring. :
Re: shedding coat it was from pets at home, and the cheapest one in the shop was 32,....have a look at them on there web site,.....they do a cheap one at 25, then 32 and 50,......we got ours for 48pound
Re: shedding coat Get the shoes Lynne The one thing Sam hates is being brushed , I`m always gentle but you would think I was murdering him : I also have a Mitt thing, but dont do him very often because he is always thrashing about in undergrowth which seems to do the job for me
Re: shedding coat Lynne you might have already but if not take your expensive ferminator back to pets at home and order one from www.vetuk.co.uk. There own version is £9.86 only differance it hasn't a button to remove the hair but it's not needed. The real furminators from vet uk are £20.98 or £21.34. Use the money you've saved on you. ;D I find vet uk very reasonably priced for all sorts and postage is only £1.99 free if spend over £29. Sometimes I find the same thing on amazon or elsewhere cheaper but by the time you've added postage its more. They are very good for supplements etc. my old lab had to have denamarin for his liver. Very expensive from the vet about half price from vet uk. Jen

Re: shedding coat We have a furminator for barley and it works wonders with him, in one 10 min session i would get a whole new dog from the amount of hair that i get out of him. I have also used it on puzzle a few times as well as she is starting to moult now, and it gets a fair bit of hair out from her, but only her soft fluffy undercoat.
