Hi all 1st post on here!

I have a black 9 month old lab who I think is not bad for his age.
For the past month I have worked hard on his recall & keeping him calm around other dogs! He generally comes back to my whistle after his initial excitement & play with another dog! He generally will leave people alone when out on a walk but occasionally will run upto people to greet them, I repeatedly shout down & give a peep peep on whistle to which he responds well & he’ll come running back.
My issue with him is,he has a thing for black dogs! In some cases he likes the scent being given off & he tries to hump them (male or female) & there’s nothing I can do to call him back! I have to follow him & physically get hold of him & take him away on his lead! Any help much appreciated. Thank you.

In the beginning, practice having her follow you or chase you and reward that with play/food. Her moving toward you = good things happen. Introduce the recall cue during those games, when she's already coming to you. That way she'll practice hearing "come" and coming to you, very little room for confusion or error. Get her moving first, then cue it.
