    Hello,
I was hoping for some advice, my Red Lab Rufus is almost one and a half, he recently sustained a leg injury while playing with one of his friends on his rear right leg, which was causing intermittent limping. We took him to the vets he had an X-ray and was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, we are devastated, but my issue is when his leg goes lame and he doesn’t want to put weight on it, I gently bend his leg and I feel something around his knee clicks then he is happy again to walk and put weight on it, I have tried speaking with vet but feel frustrated and not getting anywhere?
I just want to know if he may have a knee cap problem aswell??

Hello, I don’t have any experience but if you are not happy it’s perfectly reasonable to seek a second opinion. I would also be seeking that from an orthopaedic vet. Sorry to hear your pup is diagnosed so early and I hope you get some answers soon.

Thank you for replying, it turned out I was right, while my pup was in for X-ray, they diagnosed hip dysplasia but missed his luxating patella, now two life long conditions that may need surgery, if I could go back to when I picked him out of the litter, I still would pick him , we have a close bond.
Thanks again for replying I never use these forums normally I was just getting so frustrated.
