I have a 12 week old lab that I’ve had for nearly a week now, he’s full of energy and always eager to eat, he’s also drinking plenty of water. I have him on the same food that the breeder fed him (Purina Pro Plan) however when he poops which is normally a couple hours after eating sometimes his poop starts off normal and solid and then towards the end becomes runny and a slight greenish color. When I started feeding him I was giving him 3 cups per day separated into 3 meals but since reading that over feeding my be the issue I’ve reduced his food to 2 cups still spread between 3 meals. Sometimes his poop is totally normal but it concerns me when it becomes runny at the end. I’m bringing him into the vet in a couple days for his last set of vaccinations/ worming. In the meantime is there anything I can do to help solidify his poop and does anyone know what might be causing this?

If it is green then he might have sort of bacteria. Might as well send him to his vet and let his poop examine.

I'd say try another dog food. I have mine on Wild Calling. I've used Fromm, and orijen large breed puppy and not had any problems. I believe mine had a chicken or beef allergy so now she's on wild calling rabbit.
