    Hello,
We have a 4 month old puppy and we gave her a worming tablet 2 weeks ago. Ever since then she has had a really upset tummy. We contacted the vets who gave us some pro-joking but her stools are still loose and seem to get worse throughout the day. Then we noticed for the first time yesterday that there was some blood in her stools. We’ve got an appointment with the vet tomorrow but I wondered if anyone else had experienced this and had any advice. Also, we’re nervous that her never worming dose is due in 2 weeks and we don’t want to cause more problems! Are there other worming treatments we can try? Thanks for any advise you can give us! We’re puppy novices, haha.

Did she have worms prior to her being wormed? Does she have worms now?
Personally, other than pregnant bitches, and very young puppies (3, 5 and 8 weeks) I don't routinely worm dogs. I worm once or twice a year around slug season due to the risk of lungworm, but other than that, I would recommend wormcount and only worm if they need it. I have never had a dog (touchwood!!) that did need worming following a wormcount.

Gave my 11 week old pup his first worm tablet today. (All of which was discussed with the vet and purchased from them) and he has been vomiting a bit since. Apparently it’s quite normal but man it sucks to see the little dude unwell!

My pup was wormed prior to us getting her, then twice by my vet. I don't know why when I had taken a stool sample and it was negative. I do know that mom passed worms to the puppies. I guess it was all for precautions.
