Hi, hope this is the right place to ask this!
I'm moving house and there will only be limited on street parking so I want to swap my currently huge citreon c4 Picasso for a much smaller car. I have a very large lab, hes a lot taller than any other labs we've come across, so the boot still needs to be plenty big enough for him to fit in comfortably. I'm hoping there's a relatively short car out there that has a good size boot that's boxy/high enough for him to sit in. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi Molly,

I'm afraid I don't have much expertise about cars, but I just wanted to say welcome to the forum!

A VW Golf has a large amount of space in the rear seat for a small car, if you get the four-door version. With the rear seat folded down, it has a huge amount of space. My lab could easily hop into the back through the hatch, even as a puppy. My Golf was very easy to park in the city, often fitting into spaces that only the smallest cars would fit.

I have a Golf SV, so it’s a golf with extra height. They have stopped making them in favour of other SUVs but you can pick up one 2/3 years old. May be worth a look?

Skoda Yeti. No longer made but a nice small boxy SUV. My lab has loads of headroom in the back.
