    Hi all,

Newbie here, hoping for a bit of advice here as everything I've read is either contradictory or only part answers my question!

After 12+ months of searching, researching and reading pretty much everything we can, my wife and I are finally on the list for a litter of Lab puppies. We are both naturally a bit risk averse, and having read horror stories of health problems, particularly hips, we've been pretty selective with which litters we are interested in.

The bit we are now confused over is the hip score and imbalance. From everything posted elsewhere here and online generally, I understand that there's only a small amount of genetic influence in the overall health and most Hip Dysplasia is environmental. All other scores for both Dam and Sire are spot on (elbows 0/0 on both,

Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Sorry - half my post didn't save...

So elbows on both are 0/0, and Inbreeding Coefficient is 2.3% (Dam) and 6.2% (Sire).

It's the hips which are a bit more worrying, but I don't know if this is us reading too much into it and over-worrying, or whether there's little to worry about here.

    Dam - hips 3/7 (EBV -19.93)
    Sire - hips 7/5 (EBV -14.83)

Hopefully someone can point us in the right direction... should we be worried?!

    Hi there
Sorry I can’t help with the hips properly but from previous posts they seem ok.
Put hip scores into the search engine to see previous replies. As you say much depends on early days keeping exercise and jumping to a minimum.
What is the COI of the litter?
