Wondering if anyone can help us. Our 3 year old Yellow Female has started jumping up on the bed in the middle of the night. We have had her sleeping in our room as a way to contain her and make sure she doesn't go in the house at night (she wasn't completely housebroken when we got her as an adult from the breeder last November). This is a recent development just this week but it's distressing. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

    Welcome to the forum :)

Dogs are a very social species, with a strong instinct to sleep close to their social group for warmth and safety. She sees where you are in the night, and thinks 'that's where I ought to be as well'!

I think your options are probably either to go cold turkey moving her into a closed room elsewhere, or start crating her in your bedroom at night.

If the temperature of your bedroom drops significantly in the night, you might also find that she's comfortable staying on the floor if you get her a warmer bed.
