We received some heart breaking news over the weekend. Rosie our 5 year old lab was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia with a bone fragment floating around in there. We are waiting to speak with the surgeon however with COVID they are estimating I won't get the consult for 3-6 weeks and the surgery not taking place till late July. We are extremely active, usually spending at least an hour to two hours a day hiking, so not being able to do this is killing myself and Rosie. I was hoping to get some advice from people who have experienced this in the past and what the process was like, and did your fur-baby return to normal life?
Hi AshlN, welcome to the forum I'm sorry to read about your girl's diagnosis, I hope she gets the treatment she needs soon. The games in this article might help you in the meantime, to meet her need for mental stimulation without putting much physical strain on her joints. Good luck, and please keep us updated on her progress.
