Hi all, newbie here! Proud owner of a 9 week old chocolate lab named Fawkes. Both myself and fiancé have had dogs in the past (golden retrievers on his side, and a king charles spaniel, yellow lab and westie on mine) but this is the first which is solely our responsibility so we are busy reading a variety of books and posts to make sure we get him off to the best start he can have. He seems to have settled in better than we could have hoped for, hasn't soiled his crate overnight but instead howls to be let out then calms back down again. Had a few we accidents but nothing huge. little worried bout his sleepiness today but I'm sure its nothing
Re: hello Hi Elaine! A warm welcome to you and Fawkes - interesting name Loads of useful info on here to help you out - and loads of really helpful peeps too. Jac and Lilly (3 and a half )

Re: hello Hi Elaine, Welcome onto the forum,it's helped me out no end with my yellow boy Dexter 14 months....he's our first dog...my Husband has never had a dog and my parents only started having them from when I was a about 16 so I only paid attention to the cuddling and occasional.....under sufferance walk!.....Wish I'd listened to my Mum and bit more......and not just about dogs! ;D
Re: hello Hello Elaine and Fawkes(phoenix inspired?) from Riley and I Riley's our first dog so quite a learning experience!
Re: hello Hi Elaine. Welcome. Hope u enjoy and find this forum useful as much as I do Ternaya and Harley (16 weeks old)
Re: hello Hi Elaine and Fawkes. I'm Caroline and I have a 12 year old choc lab Fudge and a new little choc chap called Buddy (8 weeks). Although I've always had dogs, I've never had a pup in the Winter before- I am spending a lot of time wrapped up in my woollies in the garden with Buddy....only for him to come into the warm kitchen for a wee by the Aga. Aagh!
Re: hello O bless Buddy! Well, why wouldn't it be better to pee inside where it's cosy by the aga ? ;D
Re: hello Hi Elaine, Hi Fawkes! I have Harry and Charlie. It's a wonderful forum here. Their advice and support has been invaluable to me. x
Re: hello Thanks everyone! He's a bit under the weather day - had his 2nd vaccination last night and has been a bit whiney when lifted today. Im hoping its nothing to worry about!
Re: hello He'll probably be fine tomorrow. The vaccinations can make them feel off colour for a day or so.
Re: hello Welcome _Elaine_ I'm new ish too, joined last week and just want to say that these lot on here are the friendliest people ive ever met- the support they have given me has been amazing. I'm mum to Jax 9week old black lab.
