    Hi all, newbie here!

Proud owner of a 9 week old chocolate lab named Fawkes. Both myself and fiancé have had dogs in the past (golden retrievers on his side, and a king charles spaniel, yellow lab and westie on mine) but this is the first which is solely our responsibility so we are busy reading a variety of books and posts to make sure we get him off to the best start he can have. He seems to have settled in better than we could have hoped for, hasn't soiled his crate overnight but instead howls to be let out then calms back down again. Had a few we accidents but nothing huge. little worried bout his sleepiness today but I'm sure its nothing

    Hi Elaine,
Welcome onto the forum,it's helped me out no end with my yellow boy Dexter 14 months....he's our first dog...my Husband has never had a dog and my parents only started having them from when I was a about 16 so I only paid attention to the cuddling and occasional.....under sufferance walk!.....Wish I'd listened to my Mum and bit more......and not just about dogs! ;D

Hi Elaine and Fawkes. I'm Caroline and I have a 12 year old choc lab Fudge and a new little choc chap called Buddy (8 weeks). Although I've always had dogs, I've never had a pup in the Winter before- I am spending a lot of time wrapped up in my woollies in the garden with Buddy....only for him to come into the warm kitchen for a wee by the Aga. Aagh!

O bless Buddy! Well, why wouldn't it be better to pee inside where it's cosy by the aga
    ? ;D

Thanks everyone! He's a bit under the weather day - had his 2nd vaccination last night and has been a bit whiney when lifted today. Im hoping its nothing to worry about!

He'll probably be fine tomorrow. The vaccinations can make them feel off colour for a day or so.
