    Hi everyone
We have an almost 3year old lab who we crate trained for the first year and then we felt he no longer needed it (worked really well!). In three weeks we will get our second lab. Do we crate train her in the same way or does she sleep with Our older dog? We are getting conflicting advice. Many thanks for any help and advice offered. Vic x

    Hi Vicstan

Definitely crate train the second puppy. Helps with toilet training. Can help with separation anxiety training. And will give your older dog some peace. Your older dog may not want to share his bed. And he shouldn't have to share it. There is no guarantee they will be friends in the way you seem to be thinking. Please read the site on how to introduce a second dog.
