Conjunctivitis

    My dog has conjunctivitis and has had it before. The first time he had it we knew what it was but bets won’t prescribe the eye drops without and examination. So 5 mins and £70 later we leave with the drops

    fast forward to this year somehow he has it again. Am I right in thinking I can use optrex and avoid the £70 charge or is there some special ingredients in the dogs cream that differ from the human stuff. Seem to be a lot of contradiction on this.

    The reason the vet want to see the dog is to check that it is just 'conjunctivitis' and there is nothing nasty going on that you may have missed. Eyes are very dilicate and very important and not something you want to risk.
    That said, if you are in the UK, Golden Eye from the chemist is fab.
