Hi We got our lab puppy yesterday and he had his first check today. They said he was breathing very heavy and said maybe the stress of car ride(it was a 10 min drive). Also they said his stomach is bloated , so they took an xray and mentioned intestinal inflammation, fluid buildup and tiny foreign objects. There is no blockage , they wanted to do an ultrasound and referred us to urgent care. The urgent care would not be able to do untrasound until monday. We are first time pet owners and not sure what exactly is going on. Is this something serious? Puppy looks healthy otherwise, he ate dinner yesterday and breakfast today and has peed many times. We are not sure of poop , but we saw some poop now in the area he used to go behind the pots. There was one pile of dried black poop and one pile of fresher brownish poop. We are thinking he must have done it twice , but not sure. Worried and looking for some guidance .. as we were told he was healthy and had first set of shots at 6 weeks, so we were not expecting something like this. He lived outdoors at the sellers last 2 weeks in Texas, and might have eaten something?
Can you ask his breeder for a copy of his vet report from his vet check before he went to his new home? I assume your vet checked with you that he was appropriately wormed?
Hope it's ok. As above. Could be worms. A lab will eat anything it can get. Mine tried an electrical cable for a hoover the other day. It want plugged in but still scared me. So keep the area he go in clean including it's own waste. Could be over eating. If a bag of kibble is open it will eat the lot and ask for more. Genetics at some point that " I'm full" switch was turned too off. If the vet thought it was bloat they wouldn't take that amount of time. Chris
