Hi all. tired slightly rambley sorry. Still on part human and part puppy click except I don't get to sleep during the day. As someone who has expressed how much they don't like random peoples opinions but is also willing to voice their own. This ones peoples chance. So surprisingly are pup has bonded with me. I've always found male dogs bond with my wife, female with myself. Its been a little over a week and he's very responsive to me, almost every moment through direct or indirect (play) we are training each other. He already knows touch sit down stand come drop leave and up. Done them in several different environments as well. Getting there with wait just doesn't like me getting too far. Good now at going out to pass solids not so much urine but previous owner used puppy pads and basically taught him toilet was fine in the house. Do wish the teething would stop but he responds to drop so limbs are retrievable. Anyway The last two days my wife hasn't been able to walk with us as she's pulled her back. We are getting about ten yards from the house, suddenly he just stops and sits tail way between his legs anxiety through the roof. Can get about thirty yards with loads of encouragement walking about two yards at a time. That's it. On the way back I'm stopping every two wards as he's pulling. Don't care about heel just after a nice hanging lead. When I stop he becomes quite vocal. We have both walked him on are own before with no real problem. It's just since we have had to stop the joint walks. Now I suspect I know why it's happening. Can I get others ideas. Chris
Total amateur at dog psychology but I would say he has picked up the vibe that your wife is in pain and doesn’t want to leave her. My dog will occasionally get to the end of the road with my husband and refuse point blank to go any further. It is usually when it is near his dinner time or I am busy getting the house ready for visitors. His is a fear of missing out! Could you take him out in the car for a few walks so you are not walking away from the house?
