Hi, my black lab male pup is 12 weeks old. We also have a 4 year old boisterous border collie bitch. She was unsure of Jack when we got him home but has accepted that hes around now. My question is about play. They play quite rough together, lots of nipping and rolling round. Is this normal? I intervene with toys and distractions sometimes. He starts puppy class soon and I dont want him launching himself at other pups there. Many thanks, Jeanette
Puppies play rough, some rougher than others do they need to be matched in style. My girl was a rough wrestler and I had to intervene on occasions. Have a look at UTube videos by Jane Sigsworth about play, really helpful to understand it and the idea of consent. Hope that helps.
