Jake had squamous cell carcinoma in his right nostril. His condition was getting worse. He no longer wanted to get up. His sneezing became much worse spraying more blood. We had no choice. We are so lost without him. Jake would have turned 12 in November. Jake was the best We love him so much. I can’t believe he is gone.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a lucky dog, who had a wonderful life, and knew he was loved for every minute of it. I hope that in the future you'll be able to reflect on your time together with a smile.

I'm sorry he's gone but I hope soon you'll be able to look back fondly on 12 wonderful years.

So sorry, we said goodbye to our just 12 year old lab this Fall, Gideon. He had an unknown spleen tumor that was very agressive and becoming more common in labs. He was fine and then he wasn't when it started to bleed. I was in shock. He was the best as I'm sure Jake was. The vet said 12 was a good life but as i had to say goodbye I thought "never long enough"
I am thinking of adopting an older lab, not to replace him in the Spring, but to give love to someone else. I adored him to pieces but after my first lab died, I refused to think of another. Gideon, prompted by my husband, helped me realize I could passionately love another, different but special dog. I hope I have another chance to do that one day when my grief subsides a little.
