Lately we have been working on puzzle's recall away from other dogs, she is getting quite good now, but only due to barley. Since barley has been playing with her more, and showing an interest in her, she has now started to realise that other dogs are less interesting as she has her own play buddy at home, so she does not need to go running over to every dog she see's to go and play which is great. At times we have not even had to call her away from another dog, she will turn around and come back to us by herself, which we are really pleased about. We still have to get her recall away from other dogs once she is already playing with them sorted as she turns death once she starts playing, but we are slowly getting there. It is so nice to have a dog that we can let of and not worry about it running off and never to be seen again, it is so nice to have a nice relaxing walk not worring about what if there are any other dogs about, if there are any cyclists about or if there are any other people about
Re: recall from other dogs - improvement This is good to hear Annabelle , I always think its one of the hardest things to train , the recall away from others . My rescue terrier type Millie always runs to other dogs , its something thats proving hard to break as she is an older dog and se in her ways, but at least she turns round and comes back to me .
