Has anyone had any experience of this or is it only found in certain breeds and not labs? A friend with a brand new cocker has had this diagnosed at her first check up. Surgery now needed. Photo to show you how cute she is.
I haven't experienced it personally, but have heard of good results using ball therapy depending on the severity. Surgery isn't as straight forward as it sounds. https://www.dentalvets.co.uk/common-cases/lingually-displaced-canines Was this not picked up at her vet check by the breeder?
She got a second opinion and surgery to remove the baby teeth set for tomorrow. The breeder said if she was local she would be taking her back to her vet to see why it wasn’t picked up. She offered a full refund and to come and pick her up but my friend has decided to deal with it herself. Could be costly in the long term if she needs surgery on adult teeth but she feels she is already attached. I have forwarded her this link. Thank you.
At 4pm she had eaten at the vets and at home. A bit whiny but that is to be expected with anaesthetic. Hopefully she will bounce back tomorrow. The challenge will be not letting her bite anything solid for 10 days!
