Hello everyone, I have a 4 year old black Labrador. 3 months ago he lost the full epithelial on his left paw in between is toes. Back and forward for tests, creams, tablets etc. about 4 weeks ago we started an aggressive treatment of 90mg of prednisone a day and flamazene (silver) His paw is healing but he is like a completely different dog, he has lost weight, his fave looks all sunken in like almost skeletor. He is weak and his muscles are losing mass he finds it very hard to jump on on the bed or in the car. He is constantly urinating and gulping water. He has had a few accidents. does this sound normal? Is this what these tablets do after only 4 weeks
Hi, some of these symptoms are side effects of prednisone. If it was me I'd be talking to my vet asap.
Hello, yes they are all side effects of prednisone. Why such a huge dose ? That does seem excessive, I would be going back to the vet and asking to reduce it, slowly.
