    Hi there everyone,

Our black Lab is the kindest, most gentle fellow ever. He’s never shown the slightest hint of aggression.

Over the last month, he’s had three other Labs behave very aggressively towards him. Completely unprovoked. Our boy doesn’t get in the faces of the other dogs, he approaches them with care and he doesn’t fight back (poor lad just yells). Another dog plays with him but gets too rough (nipping, causing our boy to yelp). The vast majority of Labs (and other breeds) are absolutely fine with him.

Our boy is neutered. I know at least one of the three that was aggressive wasn’t neutered. The one who gets too rough in play has been neutered. The owners of the other dogs claim that such aggressive behaviour is out of character.

What’s going on? Is he somehow attracting aggression? Any thoughts on what can be done? Of course, I don’t want to risk him getting hurt, nor it shaking his confidence (he is a confident chap).

    Many thanks, all.

    Tony
