    Hi,
I’ve just picked up my new dog. 6 months old yellow girl. My last lab died 4 years ago, I have now given up my full time job and have time for a new dog. A friend is getting divorced and they can’t keep the dog for a variety of reasons so she was offered to me. She was allowed to sleep on the children’s bed but I want to keep her downstairs. She is crate trained and I have been given her crate.
I was planning on putting her in the crate at bed time and start as I mean to go on, though it may be a little disturbing for her at first. Any advice greatly received.
    Many thanks,
    Newbie

Hi Colshaw, welcome to the forum :)

How are you getting on? Moving to a new home can be a big upheaval for a young dog, so if she's having trouble settling there's no harm in keeping the crate next to your bed for a few nights while she settles in, then moving it to it's permanent position later.

Good luck, and keep us up to date on your progress!

    Hi,
I have a new 7 month old lab and i know this is for six months but i really need some help. My dog is really struggling with lying down, I’ve tried everything. When i use a treat to lure him down he just looks at it and does nothing. Please help!! I will be internally grateful.
