Re: Anal Glands alert: Finish your breakfast before reading Very interesting article, it still does not really shed any light on what is wrong with barley's anal glands
Re: Anal Glands alert: Finish your breakfast before reading Hi Annabelle, What is your vet's opinion? Pippa
Re: Anal Glands alert: Finish your breakfast before reading He was not sure either, he thinks that it may be an infection but he could not say for sure, he gave him antibiotics to see if they helped but to me there has been no difference in him he is still chewing and pulling hair out from his read end but we will just have to wait and see, he goes back on wednesday to see if there is any change
Re: Anal Glands alert: Finish your breakfast before reading Very helpful article - thanks! Quite amusing too in a bizarre way (as in amusingly written).
Re: Anal Glands alert: Finish your breakfast before reading
Hope you see some improvement soon
i do too, as he is not a very happy bunny and he hates having pills even if there is a nice tasty treat after eating them, he will dislodge them from any food, even wet food he will lick the wet food off and leave the pills
Re: Anal Glands alert: Finish your breakfast before reading This article is hilariously written ;D ;D It started with For some time the prevailing theory was that anal glands exist as proof that God hates us. Very informative though. Is this why a poop is always stinkier to pick up immediately rather than if you wait half an hour? I went on to read the Doggie Lipstick one too. I am interested in what reaction I would get if I were to share the pictures on FB as I was asked if I wished to ;D ;D
Re: Anal Glands alert: Finish your breakfast before reading Just read the Lipstick one too. Hilarious. ;D And educational.
Re: Anal Glands alert: Finish your breakfast before reading Useful reading, thanks for posting. Poor old Billy got impacted anal glands when he was very old. He was so elderly, he didnt exhibit any of the normal symptoms such as scooting or licking his bottom, and I didnt realize anything was wrong until he started smelling really very disgusting... Poor old boy! But squeezing (by the vet) and antibiotics cleared it up and he had a few more happy months of life, unbothered by his glands... So it's good to be aware of the problems that can develop at 'that end'!
