My labrador has always been concerned about my well-being. He is usually overjoyed and follows me around everywhere, unable to separate himself from me and becomes depressed each day when I leave for work.

I'm single and work for eight hours a day. I used to live in an apartment, but now I'm in a house with a patio, and I think he's even more worried.

When I leave him alone, he always destroys his bed, so I just let him sleep on the floor now, and he keeps digging holes in the patio.

Will getting another dog to keep him company be a better idea?

Please give me suggestions on how to make him feel more relaxed and how to help him behave better, especially when he is alone.

Hello, How old is he ? How often do you leave him and how long each time ? It sounds like he is bored, they get destructive when bored. Getting another dog will just double your problems. Its probably a better idea to think of ways to break up his day.

How much of the 8 hours is your dog alone?
