thanks jac,.....i am pleased with him :)...i tend to only train one thing at a time, recall took hell of a long time, we got there in the end,...i am teaching him to go on the mat and stay on it until i give him the command to come off......he is doing well with this, new mat bought yesterday after he chewed the other one ........i like him to perfect each task before moving on to something else :)
i don't want to mash his brain up :)

Lynne you do right not to try and teach too much at once , I did the same with Sam and am currently doing the same with Millie, its far better to have one thing bomb proof than several that are not :)
Well done re the weight , it will all help his limp so much :)

i am lucky kate re the weight, he is not food motivated,he must be one of the few labs that is not greedy :)

i feel the same about training kate, i just want an obedient boy,....when we are out on walks he never goes over to people or chases bikes kids ect,...the recall is almost 100%, recall for me is the most important one, having a fear of dogs i would freak if another dog was to attack him.
it also for his safety :)

got to work on the mat training one step at a time :)
