So, I've had Shadow, my female Labrador Retriever for going on four years. I've trained Shadow well for retrieving ducks and geese and she is excellent in this role. She has also become a mellow, well-mannered buddy in off hunting season.

About a year ago I bought Molly which is a German Wirehaired Pointer for upland hunting.

Shadow accepted Molly well when she was a puppy and at that time there was no problems between them.

Molly for the last three months has started in attacking Shadow I think to assert dominance. These attacks by Molly are not playful attacks and are quite vicious. Shadow being mellow will take a lot from Molly until Molly draws blood from her. Then and only then Shadow will shred the holy living crap out of Molly and while doing so Molly will keep coming at her until I break it up. Both dogs have been to the vet for stiches and Molly more so.

I keep them separated as much as possible in their crates and I work both of them separately a couple of hours each daily. I can work Molly with Shadow out but can't work Shadow with Molly out. They are not fighting over food or treats such a bones.

Shadow is totally trained on single word commands and Molly is not too for behind Shadow with this kind of training. Molly seems very intelligent and learns quick. Both dogs are good on the leash for walks and obey my commands for that. However, I can't walk them together because Molly is constantly nipping or biting at Shadow. Even when I ramp up the discipline on Molly she won't stop.

Any suggestions here for this problem?
