    Hello All,
My yellow lab began having seizures at age 3. He is currently 5, and I believe he has Paroxysmal Dyskensia. I have logged all seizures and almost are triggered by excitement and a very common scenario where he sees a dog walking past our yard, and he charges and stops at end of driveway and then collapses. It’s hard to say if the Keppra has worked, since he does have occasional seizures. Has anyone had any success with treating their seizures? I am trying to eliminate the trigger but I cant control dogs walking past our house.

    Hi Lisa,

So sorry that your pup is experiencing seizures. My dog suffered from epilepsy from about the age of 2 until his death at the age of 11. We were never able to pinpoint his triggers but we were able to get his seizures under good control. My dog was on multiple anti-seizure drugs. At the time of his passing he was on 4 anti seizure drugs. Maybe your dog needs more drugs than just keppra. My dog was on phenobarbital, Zonisamide, extended release Keppra and potassium bromide. I hope that you are able to find the right med concoction.
