Any opinions on flea and tick medicine? I am deciding between Seresto Collar, NexGuard pill or Frontline Plus.

My initial onion is I like Frontline plus the best but my lab goes into water alot and I am afraid it washes off. Then is Nexguard. I am leaning toward this since it is internal and prevents lyme disease. Finally the Seresto collar. It is most likely a coincidence but I switch my last lab to seresto and she developed alot of issues that year and passed away.

Hi John. My vet recommended Bravecta for fleas and ticks. Have been using it for over three years and am very happy with it. It comes in the form of a chew, so no problems giving it.

Depends where you live and what the risks are. I don't do anything preventative. I have had one flea situation that needed treating in over 20 years and 5 dogs. I have only seen the occasional tick. See what the risks are in your area and treat accordingly. I am Northern UK.

We are in the Southeastern US, Tennessee, home to a myriad of fleas and ticks. We have used and continue to use Frontline Plus for our labs. It has been totally efficacious. They love to swim off course, being labs, it does not wash off. No swimming for 48 hours after application is what the directions state.

Just to clarify, John. I'm in Queensland, Australia and ticks especially are a hazard. Have not seen ticks or fleas on my girl in all the time I have been using Bravecta
