Is it normal for a lab to have a strong smell? I've never had one before and she kinda smells like wet dog and throw up lol. I also have a crazy good sense of smell and maybe I'm the only one really noticing it. She's six months old and I'm totally in love with her craziness. But that smell, is there anyway to fix it?
Any smell tends to come from bedding and collars. Make sure these are washed regularly. My dog is coming up to 5. He has never had a bath but does love to swim and we walk come rain or shine.Rain water makes his coat very soft. I always make sure he is dried off well with a clean towel. Over bathing will strip out the natural oils in her coat. Sometimes if I stroke another dog I get a lingering smell on my hand so I know what you mean and some people’s houses smell of dog which I find unpleasant too. Think more about what she is lying on/being dried with rather than trying to clean her unless she rolls in fox poo!
